The 2014 championship will be held once again at the Toronto Windsurfing Club, August 1st to 4th. Michael Keltz has volunteered to organize it this year. More information will be communicated as the date approaches.
Congratulations to this year’s recipient, Gabriel Verrier-Paquette of Montreal. Gabriel switched to windsurfing in 2010 and has improved significantly in the field of men at all competitions he has attended over the past 3 years. He is a wonderful ambassador of the sport at events and in his home Province of Quebec. The CMWA was proud to be a sponsor for Gabriel at the World Juniors in Cypress this year. Congratulations and good luck in the remainder of your competitions this year. Read our newsletter later this year for a full report from Gabriel.
In effort to stimulate youth windsurfing, the CMWA initiated a $500.00 bursary program. Congratulations to Olivia Mew from Toronto, who was this year’s successful applicant, and who has used the money to participate in the RS:X World Youth Championships in Taiwan. You will be able to read Olivia’s report on her trip and racing in the Fall Newsletter to be published before the end of the year.
